...cheeky stationary...

...there is nothing better than school supplies, but school supplies with a cheeky quote them...it doesn't get better than that!

As an adult I should not love buying notebooks, pens, and day planners as much as I do (see my post on MayDesigns for additional proof), but with a birthday around the start of the school year, shopping for school supplies was always something to look forward to! The combination of organization and shopping is like an espresso shot straight to blood stream.

All that being said, and considering my pure love for books, Barnes & Nobles is honestly one of my favorite place in the world.  I am there at least once a week, to my husband's dismay, as it is only a five minute walk from our apartment.

My most recent discovery combined my love for school supplies and cheeky quotes, this awesome notepad from
Girl of All Work.  The quote "my reasonable list of EXPECTATIONS*   *subject to change at any time" is really a great articulation of my personality.

...thoughts and prayers...

...as we walked around the city this weekend to find flags at half-mast, we were saddened to find out why.

All our thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Orlando.

...Ray-Bans have always been a weakness of mine!

When these came out, though on the higher side of the Ray-Ban price range, I could not resist!

Have a great sunny weekend!

...ten years!

...So on account that I have no new throwbacks from the wonderful world of trends and fashion, I thought I would dip into the archives (of Facebook) and give you a true Throwback Thursday.

don't remember what I was trying to do here... 2006
P.S. I miss that t-shirt!

Though it pains me to admit, I can't believe that it has been ten years since I was heading off to college.  Here are some awesome photos that I would much rather forget but I am sure in another ten years they will be fond memories!

who doesn't love a bowa? oh 2006...

#squadgoals  don't be too jealous!

oh to be young again and eat whatever you wanted!

well there goes our political careers! (yep Sidekick 3 there, I was cool once... you know with my orange Uggs!)
Happy #TBT (aka social media's way of telling you nothing is ever really forgotten!)

...Darren...

...ok...the time has come!  This is Darren the Pomeranian!  He is proud and protective.

Our walks, snuggles, and staring contests are my favorite things of any week!

This is nothing more that I love then taking photos of him!  Though it may not be his favorite thing...he is a champ!

he loves the heated blanket!

"I swear it wasn't me...whatever you think happened..."

"I'm too cute for my own good!"

"My mom takes WAY too many pictures of me!"

"Some close-up..."

"..some farther away.."

"some outside...I like those!"

"I love looking out the window!"

Darren hasn't found a laundry pile he doesn't like!

he has claimed this clean (though not matched) sock pile as his own

"oh, hi mom!"

#HappyHumpDay!

...help needed...

...I need new TV shows!

As a proud child of the 90's, there is nothing more exciting then a new TV series to become obsessed with!

I am into everything from Gilmore Girls (yes, I am binging all the old seasons before the new Netflix season comes out!) to Orphan Black to Game of Thrones!

So please take this as a desperate cry for help!  Let me know if you have any recommendations!  Football Season is only three months away, and I will desperately need 15 hours of unapologetic binging (per week) to keep the household equilibrium in balance!

Some of my other obsessions!
*I swear I read a lot too!

  • The 100
  • Baby Daddy
  • The Last Ship
  • Limitless
  • Outlander
  • Madam Secretary
  • Quantico
  • Supergirl (Don't judge!)
  • TURN
  • Younger

...soulcycle...

...so if you have ever met me.. then all I need is three minutes and SoulCycle will have worked its way into the conversation.

I love SoulCycle.

Now I know what you are thinking, "SoulCycle...everyone who has gone, loves it!"  but no really I love SoulCycle.

The teachers are what you go for and the clothing is what you stay for!  Ok, maybe that's just me.  But really, SoulCycle has some of the best lounge-wear going.  It says, "Hey! I thought about working out today!"

On a more serious note, SoulCycle has become a true passion of mine.  It gives me something to look forward to in my day and makes me feel good too! (sorry chocolate cake!)

Happy Monday (*at noon)!

*let me know if you get it!

...Schick Intuition Razors...

Not sure if this is a splurge or save... that depends on you.

Razor handle with two razor refills - $9.99
Razor refill pack - three count $13.49, six count $18.99

If you are a scented-shaving-cream-and-expensive-razor girl, this is a save for you!

If you are a water-and-Bic-razor girl, this is a splurge, but trust me well worth it!

I have been using Schick Intuition razors since I was about 14 years old.  I really don't think I could live without them (except maybe in France).

The soap around the razor is wonderfully moisturizing.  And as the soap runs out, this is my signal to put a new razor on.  No guessing if the blades are dull, reducing on cuts!

Have you used Schick Intuition razors?  What do you think about it?

Happy Date Night!

...Irish Memorial...

...the Irish Hunger Memorial is one of my favorite parts of Battery Park City.

It is a beautiful memorial to the hardships that the Irish people faced during the Irish Potato Famine.  This lovely sanctuary for flowers, plants, and birds, includes stones and vegetation native to the west coast of Ireland.  Additionally, the stone structure is an authentic Irish cottage of the 19th century.

I love living so close to such a lovely green space in this concrete jungle.  If you are downtown, it is definitely worth the visit!
